Episode 11 – Synopsis
In this week’s episode
we ask: “What’s your passion? How best can you use
your talent and skills to make a difference in your
community, and the lives of others – right where you
are?”
Our i-reporters and characters
are out there getting busy, involved and active in
their communities planning and launching cool intervention
campaigns for young people - and you can too!
In this episode, we are
celebrating young people who get out into their communities,
roll up their sleeves and get busy with making life
better for themselves and others. The teams in the
different countries are definitely getting down and
dusty with their ideas to make Imagine Afrika a memorable
part of this generation’s reality.
Social transformation
happens because people decide to get involved. We gain
life skills and live for a purpose, learning how things
work and what benefits humanity. Our teams are high
on life from putting their efforts into helping create
something beyond themselves, and you see it when you
spend time around them!
Look at Brenda and Barbara in Uganda. This week they proudly release their fabulous
campaign song to the whole Ugandan nation on air after
so much hard work! Our guys in Uganda are stopping
at nothing to make sure their media and messaging campaign
reaches everyone in their country. See them in action
as they team up with some committed musicians when
it’s time to play with beats and create a theme song
for the campaign.
The crew in Ivory Coast
put their heads together and cook up exciting plans
and ideas to wow their peers in Abidjan with a message
that will impact on their lives and an event that has
the best of fashion, music and culture. Koffie is never
one to walk away from a challenge to make things happen.
Let’s see what happens when he rises to the occasion
and begins to show Coulibaly just what he’s made of
and how he works it on the organisational front.
Also watch out for Bolatch in Ivory Coast. This guy is coming up with a sweet
sounding surprise for us.
Our i-reporter in Botswana
is up against a real challenge to win Peo’s trust and
motivate her to embrace growth. Let’s see what happens
when Peo starts realising her dream to get her very
own omang (identity document) but comes up against
some tough and unexpected challenges. How will she
deal with it? And how does Kitso handle it?
A challenge for you: What
is happening in your country and community that you
are involved in? Are you a motivational speaker, a
peer educator, or a fundraiser; a committed campaigner
or an activist for a just cause like better housing,
people’s right to clean water and healthcare services?
Let us know what you are busy with and how you have
decided to go out and do something for your community.
Remember, it begins with YOU!!!
