Episode 3 - Journey to the Core

This week on Imagine Afrika III we examine the challenges and issues confronting our main characters. Our i-Reporters get to find out just what makes them tick, how they live and their dreams and their priorities - but there are many twists and turns along the way!

In Ivory Coast the extroverted Coffie takes us into the heart of Abidjan’s exciting night life with i-Reporter Coulibaly and his boys. We get to see him rule the roost in the club as the guys explore life, relationships, and sexuality, and they hit the dance floor for some fun. Charismatic Coffie is a magnet for the ladies, but we will get to see him come face-to-face with some hard-hitting questions about his expectations of relationships with women.

When Uganda’s determined i-Reporter Brenda visits the bubbly and charming Barbara to get to know her story, she uncovers some of the painful realities about being a young single mother without any support while at the same time having big unfulfilled dreams. There are more questions than answers for Brenda who is determined to go deeper – and when she least expects it she gets a really big surprise!

Botswana unfolds a hard-hitting but gripping personal story introducing us to the thoughtful but very direct Ntoro - a guy who has had some serious challenges in his life and finds himself in extraordinarily difficult circumstances. i-Reporter Kitso expertly draws him out and gradually wins his confidence. We see their relationship unfolding and learn about the real extent of the hurdles Ntoro will have to overcome if he wants to rise above his present situation and shine.
