Episode 6 – Synopsis: Choices and Consequences
The journey to the core gets really personal and the journey is intense. Our characters come face-to-face with the consequences of choices and actions in their lives for better or worse. They explore some of life’s challenging and intriguing words - conflict, choice, consequences, commitment, compromise and contentment. The situations that make life sweeter or so much harder depending on what you choose to do about them.
There is a story of love, a friendship on the rocks – perhaps for good – a last heartfelt attempt to reach out to a father and a journey home. Which way will events go and who gets to find the answer this week?
We get close to a couple with real commitment but so much conflict and strife in their relationship during our time with Ntoro in Botswana. Physical abuse rears its head and we get to learn about the real love-hate situation Ntoro is confronted with. The two have beat each other up so badly that the police need to intervene. And just when we thought things could not get any worse, he has an encounter with the law that could change his life forever and take him away from family and friends. Despite all this, i-Reporter Kitso believes there is hope for Ntoro and steps in to explore what can be done. But he comes up against some revealing facts that affect his view.
Barbara in Uganda embraces truth and emotional freedom when she seeks healing within. Watch as she uncovers painful secrets from the past that have been hurting and harming her, and bravely decides to go back to home base. Will her family embrace her or will this be a time for saying goodbye and gathering her strength? One thing is certain, she is ready for the next step in her life and bravely makes the move to sort out her life once and for all. The Barbara we meet this week has come to terms with reality. She puts people and events into perspective and surprises i-Reporter Brenda with her will to change her life and leave the past behind. Will this reality check mean that baby Courtney and her will finally find a place to call home, and much needed stability?
Tension is mounting at home for another of our characters. The very cool lyrical MC from Ivory Coast is placed in a tough spot by his parents – he’s not happy and ready to rebel!
After being made to choose between them and his best friend – he then discovers some unwelcome surprises and uncool allegations about his friend. Can Bolatch keep his word and respect the promises he’s made to his parents and forsake the friendship of his long time buddy who started the music group with him? Will Bolatch and his family move towards peace or will we see him continuing to defy them. Either way Bolatch will have to confront the consequences of his actions.
