Episode 9 – Synopsis

In Uganda there is growing excitement when Barbara and Brenda map out their unique campaign and decide they will be using the media to inform other young people about important messages around lifestyle choices, PMTCT, VCT and the importance of male partners during pregnancy. They leave their session ready to go out and work it!

Rachel in the meantime has decided it is time to confront stigma and to heal an old wound with someone from her childhood. Will it work and how will the emotional confrontation affect her?

But she has no idea what Brenda and Barbara have in store for her when she meets them afterward – a glamorous, exciting and secret surprise that sees her blossoming before our eyes with amazing results.

We have put our hopes behind and nearly given up on Ntoro in Botswana as he fights to get out of prison and doesn’t succeed. But Kitso has remained committed and determined to see a favourable end.

This week we watch Kitso try to hold this family together and we see his concern for Ntoro’s brother Lerothodi and sister Keitumetse. He does not want his younger brother get drawn into crime too – something he seems to be on the brink of doing. He also gets to meet a tough young woman, Refilwe, who’s taken charge of their situation and responsibilities – without parents!

This is also a week when we meet Desiree, the glamorous and talented young dancer and choreographer from the Ivory Coast who is clear about what she wants from life and goes out to achieve it. The only question is can she achieve it in a male dominated world and entertainment industry? We watch Desiree go!
